Your right but just after they get out the market
will take off, the broker/dealers are watching
cash flow taht we never see, when the exodus stops
they start to cover their shorts all at once.
-------------
The big dealers stay net short (to flat) they
cover before anyone else / and re-short when the
retail shorts cover. ( the amount depending on the cash
flow they get in real time going in/out off mutual
funds ) Most funds are bought/sold through a broker
so they know what's going on before TrimTabs or
AMG.
-------------
We have to feel our way around in the dark but the
broker/dealers don't.
For me the Jury is out until I can see how Tuesday
closes. IF it is net positive on "all" the indexes from
their Dec 29th close then maybe the bottom is in,
and I'll favor buying short term dips
IF it isn't then I'll favor shorting rallies over
the buying of dips.
In either case I'll likely do both, right now it's a
toss up of which side I'll play the hardest.
I'll use most of my powder with index type bets,
there just arn't many individual stocks I want to
play with.

I held the UOPIX Friday but was short the QQQ most
of the day , bought the bhh late , covered qqq
and took it long for that little late jiggle up but
sold it right back just before the close.
At any rate until the close Tuesday I'm going to
stay nibble without any mind set , and let
the Mo Mo stocks I watch trigger my flips.

If the Volatility slows down I'll take another
vacation.
My money is not so much in the Market going Up, or Down
it's in the Market going "Up and Down".<G>

PS from what I see so far I like the new WaterHouse
web-broker "select" platform.
I still have to get use to it.
