Re. sanctions on nations that persecute religious
minorities. This is a cause that *Democrats* like
Scoop Jackson used to champion. I am glad to see
that Democrats are abandoning this issue to
Republicans. Future immigrants from these countries
will not forget who helped them during their time
of need.

Prolife, the point is that it is not going to be particularly relevant whether the Dems would fight supply side tax cuts that discriminate against two-income families, legislation that unconstitutionally limit the right to choose, laws that discriminate against gays or end most favored nation status to China, because Bush, Hastert and his GOP Republican moderates who want a fighting chance to retain their razor thin congressional margin in 2002 will never let them do it anyway. But it will make for some interesting viewing.
