Man, I genuinely LOVE those arguments. I love it that they are extremely popular now (which gives me the opportunity to buy gold or gold stocks at giveaway prices), and I love it that they have been just as popular down through the ages at similar mad interludes.

I wonder how many Asians thought likewise in 1997? Those Asians who converted some of their currency holdings and stock holdings into gold as things came to a head must have loved those arguments then, just as much as I do now. (g)

I don't know whether we will return to a "gold standard" or not, nor do I care. What I desire is to have some sort of hedge against the dollar, which I think is about to drown in a sea of printing press ink and treasury selling. History suggests that gold usually does this well.
