Hi Brian,

It looks like Palm's initial focus will be on none-CDMA technologies, such as GSM, because of CDMA's small market share. But don't worry, CDMA is in Palm's plan.

Since Palm has expansion capability through its serial port, service providers can sell plug-on modules that's based on CDMA, or they can offer handset expansion kit for Palm.

For Palm, this deal with Sprint PCS is not an endorsement of CDMA over GSM or TDMA. I believe the major reasons for this deal are 1) Sprint continues to innovate, and 2) both Palm and Sprint want to address the new Palm-based handsets from Kyocera and Samsung.
