Catlady: I am glad you are here to translate...thanks....I could not follow his stuff. You may be skeptical..but at least you are an honest skeptic..and I appreciate your input!

It is speculated we are in EVERY TI DSP audio. We are masked and the OEM can turn us on or not. TI pays us a fee for every TI DSP audio that they sell (built into the price) they recommend EDIG to the OEM..and it is the OEM's option to "buy our MicroOs" in varying building block levels or not.

We are apparently NOT in AUDIOVOX for example. They have the TI DSP audio...but chose not to utilize the MicroOS.

There is a very good chance we are in the SANYO player...on the other hand.

so...time will tell.... I'll be there...watching the 10Q.s...no rush....I have time..

smile...MIR

OT: Yah, Cat; you're probably right... sounds too much like Peewee Herman hunched over his monitor, trackball beneath his greasy palm, waiting for a juicy but lengthy mpeg file to ooze through his modem. Then again, stranger things have happened; right in front of God and everybody. Wanna talk about the Carpenters instead?

CatLady, thank you for that concise summary of what I was saying about the TI DSP. That is exactly what I meant.

Most people here just have no concept of the attention to cost that is paid in consumer electronics. They think that engineers will just cavalierly throw an extra 0.50 into a part for a feature that may or may not be needed.

This is a fantasy - engineers worry about fractions of pennies on passive components to get the BOM (bill of material) cost down.
