<<potential for TV and other such streaming video via handsets can't be underestimated,>>

I'm thinking, kids (and I) can watch tv while moored in a bay, or driving to see grandparents. Somebody on the thread very recently went through calculating the bandwidth needed to refresh a tv screen 50 times a second (normal refresh rate), assuming a 600x800 pixel color screen and that 3g CDMA data rates will be more than sufficient to do tv with.

I'm thinking with your hand held video camera you can shoot a sports event, and transmit it realtime to your friends who couldn't come.

I'm thinking all the corporate video conferences throughout the country and the world.

I'm thinking all the remote doctor-patient stuff: "let me see your tongue please.." or "show me that tooth please.. "

I'm thinking all the telemetry applications in the world..

I'm thinking all the news reporters just pointing a small camera at the scene while also delivering the news as well and who needs camera crews

I think 3g capacity will be strained before it is all rolled out.
best,
sam a.
