About violence being a guy thing. It's been a looooooong time since I've kept up on that research, but, last I read, male children were more likely to "act out" physically, female children verbally. So, as far as I know it's a guy thing. There's a basic statistical law though, that applies: the differences within groups are more vast than the differences between groups. This explains the incidence of outliers: violent women and passive men, as well as allowing for differences within the groups of males and females.
