Stocks set to open on the flat side

NEW YORK (CBS.MW) - U.S. shares are poised to open on the flat side Monday, with little upside emerging following Friday's rout that took down all of the major averages.

March S&P 500 futures rose 3.70 points, or 0.3 percent, but were trading roughly 3.80 points below fair value, according to HL Camp & Co. Nasdaq futures, meanwhile, gained 11.00 points, or 0.5 percent.

Over in eth bond arena, a 10-year Treasury note was off 1/8 to yield ($TNX) 4.96 percent and the 30-year government bond was flat to yield ($TYX) 5.39 percent.

In economic news, only November consumer credit will be out Monday. The week's calendar will see the release of the December producer price index and the retail sales report, both on tap Friday. View Economic Preview, economic calendar and forecasts and historical economic data.

In the currency arena, dollar/yen edged down 0.1 percent to 116.38 but hovered at 17-month highs, while euro/dollar shaved 1.0 percent to 0.9488.
