GLW growing 20% to 30% is more bullish than the 22% (or $1.41) that analysts have the company at.

In addition, the market would have probably expects GLW to be cautious or reduce estimates going forward.

To me the Corning statement says that in a bad environment, 20% is easy and in a moderate environment, they expect to hit 30%. In an a good environment, they expect to beat 30% growth. Companies are generally conservative in their guidance especially after what they saw happen to the economy in the last 2 months. If would be stupid to set the bar too high.

Given how estimates keep getting cut, I take their statement as very bullish. Consistent earnings deserves a premium multiple, IMHO.

If there is any slowdown,I would expect it to be other areas of their business. That is why I believe this report is very bullish on optical.

Having stated the above, I do believe JDSU is a better value.
