Darlene,

I think CA’s economic future is fairly easy to predict. We had the same type of economy here in Minnesota during the late 60's, 70's and early 80's. The computer industry was located here, the U of Minn. had the best IT department in the country to support the industry. 3M came into its own, also Honeywell as well as other well known companies. To support these industries our infrastructure build-out caused taxes to grow to the point that most of the successful companies moved out of state. The professors at our University left to go to Universities in states that were on a mission to attract these companies that were leaving. The same thing will happen to Ca. The infrastructure build-out cost in CA. will get to the point where taxes are sufficiently high and it will be advantages to move to other states. California is headed for a recession which will be long and deep.

It looks like this will happen in California much faster than it occurred here.
