dennis, well the operative word there is tidy. there are probably a lot of pc users who have desktops chock-full of icons that they didn't create and they don't use. one way of quickly straightening things up is to create a new folder (call it 'crap', or 'misc', whatever pleases you), and just drag all of the annoying icons in there and let 'em stay hidden. and just in case someone is unsure on how to rename a folder on their desktop, simply right-click it, type in the new name and hit 'enter'. :) mark
