Linda Chavez will be treated the same as Zoe Baird. It is true that "what goes around, comes around". This nomination will be Bush's first stumble.

Why should Linda Chavez be any kind of scapegoat
For the same reason as Zoe Baird. This criteria was setup by the current Republican leadership (and Gingrich) and the old chickens have come home to roost.
