What do you think doubling the amount of L2 cache will do to P4 performance?

Not much for the existing software base. They would like to have a huge L2 cache to preload large blocks of data via SSE instructions. At some point (maybe 5 years down the road), significant performance gains will be made through speculative preloading across a high bandwidth bus, into a large cache.
