There is just so much fear out there. I haven't seen this since the 87 "correction"... .

Dow was as low as 1700 or so as I remember in the 1987 correction. No idea where nasdaq was. Anyone with guts then is probably one of the millionaires we hear about. The opportunity here over a ten year period might be just as profitable. The absolute bottom will mean very little 10 years out. If cisco is at 500, it matters little whether you paid 35 or 45 for the stock. In fact those unlucky souls who paid 75 wont mind much either.(This assumes cisco is a big winner of course) It is being in the game that counts.
What we have here is a horse race between Dont fight the tape and dont fight the fed. It will take awhile for Fed to catch up to tape just as it did in the spring when rates were rising. In the meantime, history tells us that it is the second rate move that starts the change in direction. So we may have some more rocky days ahead until 1/31.
I am confident that the Fed will fight the recession aggressively, so in the end we win.
