I thought JDSU is better than GLW but now feel both are great holdings.
Valuation for the growth rate is better at JDSU but GLW is company with several businesses. They are making their inroads into biotech as well. That does deserve a better valuation.
Cramer still putting down cornings.
Check out this quote from a late commentary:

thestreet.com
"Why not take advantage of the rosy outlook that Corning (GLW:NYSE - news - boards) gave -- 20% to 30% growth -- in the New York Times over the weekend and sell it before the company has to lower that growth rate because of all of the obvious telco problems. Remember, Corning didn't see the great downturn in its business in the 80s until it was way too late, I don't think this time will be any different. I suspect that you will get a chance to do so into the buy programs I see developing here. "

Now comparing the present company to 1980s version that was into pots and pans back then. Unbelievable. This guy does not get...at least in optical.
He is just "Wrong". I usually end up defending him on these message boards since I believe he is pretty good overall.
