Huh? I'm not trying to suppress anything. In fact, I'll readily concede that boosting I/O speeds on PC's could make them more competitive. But you seem to want to take the article out of context, put it up on a pedestal, and worship it as proof that your bearish stance on Sun's business prospects will eventually be vindicated.

How much do you think a PC server with fibre channel and a backplane to support the kind of bandwidth Sun servers have will cost? You don't expect to find one for $300 at Best Buy, do you? Free if you sign up for a year of MSN?

I happen to think all the talented people at Sun will find a way to stay a step or two ahead. AFAIK, there's nothing to stop them buying chips from Broadcom, if that's what it takes. It is a competitive game, has been ever since I can remember, and Sun has been "scoring" pretty darn well.

But you're welcome to draw whatever conclusions you like. That's what it's all about. Surely you wouldn't want to suppress my counterpoint to your "point," would you? So why the ad hominem?

You're pretty predictable, too, you know, and anything but humble.

JMHO.
