yes, i also think this borders on the criminal. it is quite possible that the fact that personal income growth has been underperforming every other growth statistic during the boom is responsible for this. yes, huge profits were made and advances in productivity were achieved - but none of it has been truly shared with the workers. they had to borrow to consume, and now the piper is about to be paid.
