I agree with "what I've encountered" or even "many", but "most" steps over the line and I don't believe that it can be supported. Hillary just won a senate seat, she didn't do this with "most" men voting against her (as would be assumed if they were making statements that they felt would minimize her significance).

And I am not trying to minimize the significance of the fact that Hillary and any other women who move into powerful positions are attacked and their abilities are minimized by meaningless accusation about private behavior. I have seen it many times. But I think that when one is trying to fight a certain type of behavior, whether sexism, racism, ageism or any other "ism", it is important to make sure that one is not letting a bit of that "ism" sneak in to the argument.
