bear market rallies can last for weeks and involve hundreds of points. These one day things sort of compact this action into one day. Maybe that reduces the time frame we have suffer thru. In 1987 the bear market was very shortlived. Here we have come down from the heights but if you look at the last four months in which we have had a 50% drop perhaps we are really nearing an end to this.
