The NASDAQ just took off around 3:25(EST) today. Heavy buying in many big techs. Anyone see the kind of news that might touch off this kind of move? I am not complaining, had a couple of nice daytrades in the last half hour..but always like to know reasons, and CNBC seemed to have no clue.

As LG says, "Think like criminals", but I added one more noun to that statement, and that is..."Think like criminals and MONKEYS"! The chimps were caught off guard by the rate cut, and didn't get enough bananas, therefore the fix was in, to do what was necessary to bring the markets back down, in order to acquire enough bananas. Hence the Barron's article on CSCO over the weekend, and the immediate institutional buying at the open today on the Q's and CSCO! Par for the course. Expect a 1000 point run minimum, then a pull-back in March-April, when lockup expirations and tax selling occur.
