Haim it's true that China's and India's upper class is a great source of demand for electronic gadgets. i remember in South Africa a cellular phone was considered a big status symbol (which incidentally led to a boom for makers of toy handsets) as you had to have monthly earnings of at least R6,000 to qualify for a connection (at the time this was about the equivalent of USD 2,500 - a huge amount in South Africa).

I think you know how much respect I have for your good posts, but I think China, India, Brazil, and so on, are distractions. Until some new order rises out of the ashes, where the head goes the body will follow.
