Make no mistake, this expansion in consumer credit tells me, in a lagging fashion, that confidence is not yet broken. People are pulling back, I can sense that even in my neck of the deep woods, but they are still confident in the bigger picture. Borrowing is an act of confidence. Hmmm... thought consumer confidence figures were trending down.
