I have gotten more Internal Server Errors today than ever before. I notified SI a week ago that their traceroute shows massive (56%) packet loss at their InterNAP hop. There is no way anyone can have a good connection with this awful hop. Traceroutes today show the same packet loss at InterNAP. What made us think these guys knew anything about the internet?

Rick

re, "Somebody should have reminded these 'geniuses' that 'if it ain't broke don't try and fix it'"

somebody did, often and loud. have you forgotten the howls of outrage from the loyal classic followers? remember the petition threads where hundreds of members pleaded with management not to do this?

oh, the geniuses were reminded all right. but they were not willing to listen. they knew better. they were being paid to make change. they thought that everything moved at the speed of light, including user's preferences and allegiances.

how wrong they were. how foolish and pig-headed. "new is better!" they all cried, and they enticed more than a few members to see things their way with promises of features and speed and interfaces to die for.

and now they spend as much time explaining away the problems and thanking frustrated members for their patience as they do fixing the darn thing.

it shouldn't have turned out this way

:)
