<California utility crises>

Good points Lucky. The mess is a result of lack of foresight at two important junctures:

* While everyone knew at least two years in advance that supply of natural gas would not meet demand. The only action taken was to increase pipelines without concern for how to fill the pipelines. As you know, due to pollution concerns, natural gas is mandatory in Cal. for electricity production.

* To satisfy proponents of both sides of the deregulation issue, California adopted a solution doomed for failure.

Lucky, today's Barrons features a story on palladium and explains the demand/supply issues. Favorable comments on SWC, "the only major palladium producer outside Russia and South Africa." SWC's chart looks good.
