I posted a similar interpretation. Margin problems and refinancing interbank situations makes sense to me as the consumer spending simply wasn't there. Nor do I expect to see the consumer confidence numbers turn in any consequential way. Too many pink slips floating around.

This ramp hasn't got any teeth in it (so far) as there simply isn't any volume strength. That said, I will continue for a while yet, to take the quick profits rather than let the positions ride. We have to work with each unfolding step of this burgeoning bear. (g)
