I despise Randy Cross, although I don't know what the Left Coast has to do with Baltimore vs. Tennessee. He was on talk radio here for a little while, and he really annoyed me.

Regarding Vermeil, it was glossed over by the media that the Rams only became successful after the front office took away his total control in the summer of '99. They forced some key changes to his staff, including Martz, and pulled him back from game planning. Granted, the addition of Torry Holt, Marshall Faulk, and Kurt Warner (and healing Isaac Bruce's hamstrings) were the biggest factor in the turnaround. However, I have heard that the Rams players felt they won despite Vermeil, not because of him.
