Below is a link with a fairly sophisticated calculator for determining the approximate Intrinsic Value of BRK under various scenarios. You can use various "hard wired" model assumptions or plug in your own.

For the reason's you state, BRK's P/E is misleading. I prefer to compare the current stock price to a range of IV's calculated using the above model.
