Hmmm! I must have struck a nerve and I would say that the very fact that you reacted the way that you did proves the point. If I had made the same observation during the heady days of early 2000, this comment would not have bothered you a wit! "Comeuppance" - is defined as "a punishment or retribution that one deserves; one's just deserts". Gorilla gaming without sufficient consideration of valuation and other aspects of prudent portfolio management is precisely what the thread exemplified before the decline - and, alas, the time came to pay the piper. But then are you not the charlatan who is frequently chided about your fascination with options, use of margin and other short term trading techniques, despite the fact that you don't know what you are doing? In fact going through your profile, I noticed this post:Message 15117812 If there was one thing that you should have learned from the gorilla thread it is that the injudicious use of margin is hazardous to your wealth- or your aspirations to become wealthy! This has been repeated often enough that even those who are a shade slow on the uptake should have absorbed it - but poor tekboy still does not get it in his rush to make his millions! Tut, tut!! Let me think; what would be an appropriate term to describe someone who remains fully margined even as the Nasdaq is in a full blown decline? I've got it - "a cretinous idiot"!. I see, from your profile, that you became serious about the markets only during the past year -- a text book example of the kind of jerk who enters the market near its highs, fully leveraged only to be wiped out when the market declines.the Naz may be in the toilet, and tech investors there and all over SI may be hurting, but the G&K has kept its intelligence, its good humor, and its sense of community throughout the drop I never suggested otherwise; but the gorilla gamers have undergone a fair amount of pain - and those who started their portfolios early last year have seen their portfolios lose over 50% of its value. Much of this pain and devastation has been caused by a combination of arrogance, greed and the assumption that even if the bull market came to an end, the gorilla stocks would remain relatively unscathed.Constructing something valuable yourself is a bit more strenuous than picking obsessively over the droppings of others Constructing something valuable requires the exercise of diligence and prudence. I have done that and today enjoy the fruits of that effort. You and your ilk think that the indiscriminate use of gorilla gaming will get you to your goal and is a panacea for your investment aspirations - I doubt that it will be and given your personal proclivity for short-term trading, the odds are that you will never stay with the program even if it were the path to riches. When you've managed to do it, maybe someone will finally pay you the notice you seem to crave If craving attention were my primary interest, I would not be posting on this thread that has a limited following. I would be doing what you do -- posting all over SI.
