OE,

Sorry, didn't get a chance to look at EMC until now.

Closed above your sell point, as I'm sure you know. Today's inverted hammer is moderately bullish, with lukewarm technical buy signals showing:

My guess it that EMC will test minor overhead at 67 1/2, then stronger overhead at 70. Right now, it does not seem very determined. It could also settle into a trading range/basing period here, given the lack of conviction so far.

But it certainly does not look appealing as a short at this point. At the very least, I'd want to see a failed test of overhead at 67 1/2, followed immediately with technical sell signals (actually, the 5-3-3 stochastic shows a sell signal right now, so perhaps this is a precursor of a failed test of overhead?). Then, if it traded below the previous day's low, I would consider shorting it. I see lower support along a recent trend line which would now be about 53 (this minor trend line extends from the lows of the week of 12/18, through the lows of the first week of the year, and extended out would provide support at about 53 if EMC reached this point in the next week or so). If EMC failed, and were shorted, I would look to exit no later than this point, or as the technicals strengthened, whichever comes first.

JMVHO, of course...........
