Cobalt, the software developers who are handling this USPO should be fired if computer searches are taking longer than paper searches. In some rare cases when the patent officer needs to read the patents one by one, I can understand that. But computers/databases/indices have been designed with the express purpose of making searches faster.

i see...that reminds me of the land registry in Vienna...before they switched to a computerized system, you could get copies of title deeds within twenty minutes...with the new system you have to wait a few days.
