Thanks, Elizabeth for proving Mark wrong: edig.com "e.Digital was the first to develop a digital handheld voice recording and playback device with removable Flash Memory which supports memory module interchangeability." They were NOT the first to build a recorder using flash memory. According to EDIG (subject, though, to independent verification), they were the first to build a recorder using REMOVABLE flash memory. (They even conveniently underlined "removable").
