Cramer is just a plain fool....that is really besides the point. NTAP is a great company, but that does not matter in a market such as this. those in NTAP for the long haul shouldnt have a thing to worry about. NTAP will be a gorilla....storage aint going nowhere.....but the short term may be tough.

My recomendation, which is worth about as much as the gum wrapper I just threw in the trash.....if your long ntap at higher prices, keep the faith, do not sell. Buy at lower levels if you have the capital to do so...lower that cost basis, if your view is long term. If your short term, use whatever strength to sell and take your profit, or be prepared to buy lower, keep your average cost down so you can get out with a profit......all in all, I think this is a buyers market. NTAP is a great company. $50...we may go higher, may go lower.....but in the grand scheme...years from now, my guess is todays price will be cheap....but at the same time, any naz weakness could bring ntap down further in the near term.

Good luck to all longs......

Network Appliance F840 Filers Selected by Visible Genetics to Better Automate DNA Sequencing
Storage Solution Requires High-Availability Systems and Optimized Data Protection

biz.yahoo.com

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 10, 2001-- Network Appliance, Inc. (Nasdaq:NTAP - news), the leading provider of network-attached data access and content delivery solutions, today announced that Visible Genetics Inc. (Nasdaq:VGIN - news), a leader in the emerging field of pharmacogenomics, has selected Network Appliance(TM) as its vendor of choice for network storage solutions. Visible Genetics required a storage solution to reliably store pharmacogenomic information relating to its sequencing systems to aid in the treatment of many diseases such as Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), hepatitis B virus and hepatitis C virus.

Visible Genetics has implemented the multiple-terabyte NetApp® F840 filers, the most powerful Network Appliance enterprise storage solution, to store genotyping data, which is used to develop and manufacture products to analyze drug resistance genotypes in infectious disease agents such as HIV. The NetApp F840 ensures that the company's genetic research database is scalable and reliable, enabling high availability and access to database files, DNA sequences, and other company data. The Network Appliance storage solution also allows for maximum server uptime to enable around-the-clock research and customer support and service.

``We've selected Network Appliance solutions and products because of their consistent reliability, minimal downtime, and overall low total cost of ownership,'' said Dan Webber, director, information systems at Visible Genetics. ``They are a critical component of our rapidly growing pharmacogenomic database business.''

Visible Genetics is also utilizing NetApp SnapMirror(TM) and SnapRestore(TM) software to protect data in both its North American and corporate headquarters. SnapMirror ensures data accessibility by protecting the genotyping information with proactive replication technology. SnapRestore provides Visible Genetics with the ability to restore entire volumes of research and data sequencing in minutes by minimizing business interruptions. The software eliminates expensive technologies and the traditional procedure of duplicating sets of disks for backup purposes.

``Visible Genetics' storage requirements called for a dedicated appliance that enabled high performance, simplicity, and scalability, and Network Appliance was the answer,'' said Mark Santora, senior vice president of marketing at Network Appliance. ``We are proud to be powering the storage system that provides the biotech industry with access to the information required to solve some of mankind's greatest afflictions.''

Visible Genetics is another ``Powered by Network Appliance'' customer, building critical data infastructures with proven NetApp storage solution architecture and fueling the expansion and reliability of the Internet.

About Visible Genetics
