When the situation we are in looks hopeless, or inimical to taking care of our family, or so convoluted we could not possibly take a meaningful role, we go somewhere else. When we are not too oppressed, and think we can make a difference, we stay put. Our ideals lead us to seek a better place in the one instance, and to stay and work for the betterment of our homeland in the other.
