yes, the concern i voiced applies more to the aggressive lenders like PVN. there's a general flight out of financials though, and AXP is part of that.
i've no idea if there are additional concerns w.r.t. AXP, but there may well be. a slowdown in consumer spending can't be good for them.

this thing going sideways for a month? i frankly doubt it...volatility has been steadily increasing, and i think it'll increase even more before everything's said and done.

the Fed WILL cut again at the end of Jan, that much is predicted by the FF futures (the most reliable indicator regarding Fed policy). however, a lot can happen until then...btw., i don't believe another surprise cut is in the cards, unless something really goes badly wrong in the system. they already signaled they're in a panic, any more and they may in fact precipitate a panic in the financial markets.
