<<the financials are now ripe methinks, finally.>>

I agree. I'm fully locked and loaded, including everybody's favorite short, the Derivative King. Also a nice smorgasbord of credit card trash. I may add some credit insurers to cover the cali-ute fiasco a little more directly.

Got opinion ABK/MBI?

Looks like GOP reps are preparing to let California twist in the wind on the Cali-ute crisis:

dailynews.yahoo.com

At least one GOP senator already has made clear that many Republicans
have little taste for a federal bailout.

``California's politicians failed in refusing to build new power plants for a
decade while population and demand exploded,'' declared Sen. Phil Gram,
R-Texas. He promised to ``vigorously oppose'' any federal intervention to
``take California's politicians off the hook.''

Frankly, I agree with Gramm. This is a great opportunity to get those derivative hedge books open and get the unwinding (so necessary to long term financial health of the economy) underway.
