But the first amendment isn't about private individuals and organizations limiting speech in their domain, it is about the Government limiting speech. I believe that someone can be a strong advocate of the first amendment and still have the desire limit expression in their domains. If I have a rule in my house that nobody says the word "shit", and a guest comes over and says "shit", then I have the right kick them out of my house. If a business has a corporate policy stating that political discussions are not welcome inside their walls, that business has the right to restrict that speech. Neither one of these conflicts with the first amendment. On the Piffer OT thread, we had a rule that political discussions would be limited to how they affected the market. A guy named Asenna1 came over and started spewing his political rhetoric on the thread. I politely asked him to leave and he came back with more. I got a bit pissed at the guy and asked him to leave again (he turned me in for a TOU violation, BTW). In your opinion, since the thread header clearly states the policy on political discussions, do you think that I would have been unreasonable if I had moderated him off of the thread? (the piffer OT thread is not moderated, so it is an academic question).

So if I have a picnic and invite my friends, as a proponent of free speech I should invite you? No Picnic, then! Yuk! You wouldn't behave yourself. You don't follow clearly rules. I tell jokes at my picnic that I wouldn't at my friend's three year old's birthday party, or at your picnic. It's a matter of good taste and respect. Nobody invited you to the LWP. It was a refuge. Look it up. When I go camping I poop in the woods, but I know the difference between that and my neighbor's front yard. Noone on LWP invited you and your cronies to plop turds there. JXM gets it. Maybe you can understand it in very simple words. It's for us, by us. Here anything goes. Please respect the rules of LWP.
