I use the merced as an illustration so the arguments would not get too biased. I did not make any serious claims about x86-64 nor ia-64.

Just wait and see how long AMD slips x86-64.

The talk around this thread used to be the number of years of head start Itanium will have over AMD x86-64. Now it looks like you guys are down to hoping that the AMD chips will be delayed.
