Alright sematic goofball.

Today's prices
Crucial PriceWatch
PC133 128MB $77.39 $ 39.00 (unbuf, NP, CL3)
PC1600 128MB $85.99 $168.00 (unbuf, NP)

In August 2000, spot market pricing for 128 Mb of PC133 DRAM was $142. I purchased DRAM then so I know it was real price of DRAM. Micron price was higher than spot market at that timeframe but I will use spot market pricing to make my point.

Micron indicated that in their 4Q00 gross margin which would include August timeframe was 59% ($1,427B/$2,294B). They are getting about $70 now for what selling 5 months ago for $140. Assuming they even lower costs form $1,428 B to 1.2B, they still will be losing money for this quarter since revenues will be approximately sliced in 1/2 from $2.3 B to 1.15B.
