i think it's a mistake to remain fixated on inflation as the only (or main) necessary condition preceding a recession. if as he says the huge private sector debt load is his primary economic concern, he should worry about deflation instead. admittedly if we see any more economists forecasting a recession it becomes doubtful that we'll get one for that reason alone. as a rule, these guys are almost always wrong. in a debt deflation easy Al can cut till he's blue in the face and it won't help.
