MobileOne requested for proposals for sale of stake 2001-01-10 12:32 (Infocast News) Lianhe Zaobao, a Singaporean newspaper, reported citing a source that MobileOne, a Singaporean mobile phone company, has requested consultation companies to submit proposals on the sales of shares. The action implies that the change of ownership of part of MobileOne's equity interest is about to materialise. The source said that MobileOne's request for the proposals may imply that the change of ownership of the 30% stake is beginning to get somewhere. A spokesman of MobileOne has confirmed that the company has contacted with consultants and the company has not set any time-table for listing. The company would like to solve the stake issue before listing. It was reported earlier that Orange, a mobile telecom operator in the UK, was negotiating with Pacific Century CyberWorks (0008) and Cable & Wireless for acquiring a total of 30% stake in MobileOne.
