I think you're right, passe may be a good word to describe affirmative action... I think the problem I have with that policy is that while it was very well intended as part of the Great Society which was first described by Lyndon Johnson, affirmative action has done as much to bring about mediocrity in the workplace and worker resentment as any positive outcome it may also have generated..... I admit it, I'm totally useless... I just hang around for the humor.....<g> GZ
