Regarding HP2000 printer.

Steve,

The HP2000 printer is a good printer, it functions well no doubt about it. HP had excellent products. Sometimes too good.

What I understand is that the problem is that it has chip smart technology that prevents one from from taking the cartridge out and refilling the ink and continuing to use it. It is designed to fail (cartirdge) after it has used 125% of the available ink and will not work after that.

If you don't print that much it doesn't make much difference, but if you print lots and often, the cost of new cartridges vs refilling can be very costly. Approx 8 times the cost. HP and Epson make bundles of money from their ink cartridges compared to profit from the printers themselves.

The refills kits are great and the quality is identical to the original cartridge if filled correctly. The ink is the same ink that the manufacturer puts in the cartridge. HP and Epson do not make their own ink, only the cartridge. For good info and a source for cartridges and paper go to

A word about paper. The Premium Photo Glossy paper they offer is one of the best on the market. It dries instantly, will not smudge, is perfectly smooth after printing, is water resistant and has an IR coating to resist fading. The best part is that it is very inexpensive. $20 for 50 sheets. Try it! I have never seen anything like it.

Let me know what you think.
