I understood they were going to give the cat to Betty Currie if they decide they can't keep it. Which a cat would probably appreciate- she probably has more time for it.

Why did you think they were giving it away for adoption?

I hate cats. They kill millions of song birds each year. Despicable animals. Of course I don't like dogs who crap in my yard or the people who own them either. So I don't really care very much about household pets. Too many of them in this country. A very great waste of resources - pets. Think of the millions spent on pets that could be spent on people. Unnecessary creatures. I am much more concerned about vanishing natural wildlife than household pets, as far as animals are concerned.

Why is it that so many people prize dogs over cats? I never understood it.

Because dogs are better.

Yeah it's one thing to lie to the people, but she shouldn't have lied to her very own boss.

Seriously, I went through mental gymnastics trying to justify her position, but I coulbn't get past the fact that her house guest was there for over two years!

The Repugs, knowing they couldn't put through the entire list of appointees w/o objection or pseudo-compromise, used Chavez as an easy throwaway to grease the tracks for Ashcroft and others. See how conciliatory they are?

I'll take Socks! Affirmative action for cats!!!

Socks up for adoption?? Say it isn't so. Guess the Clintons don't need the animal lover vote anymore. Besides, cats don't provide the essential adulation that Bill craves.

Bummer. I'll bet Socks feels positively used.
