Lots of interesting FDA statistics updated through 2000: fda.gov Note particularly the distinct jump in median approval time in 2000 for NME's - 2000 was the slowest since 1995: fda.gov Also interesting to note that the number of IND's has been pretty steady for years. Note also that the number of NME's approved in 2000 (27) was the lowest since 1994, down from a peak of 53 in 1996. Bottom line here seems to be that the FDA is slowing down, likely in response to the criticism it has faced because of subsequent withdrawals. Peter
