You are right in that there is more than one type of or force that creates a recession. 1.) An inventory recession and 2.) An asset bubble deflation. Both are probable now. Greenspan's target GDP will be missed to the downside due to the oil shock and the CA utility problems. Back in November, I was chafing at the bit to start building a LEAP's portfolio...now I will get much better prices. I vividly recall the '72-74 market. Better to error on the safe side IMO.
