The benefits begin with Stratus’ unique fault-tolerant hardware design, now available for Windows 2000 environments. Each ftServer system integrates fully replicated hardware components that eliminate virtually any single point of failure and safeguard data integrity. The server automatically manages its redundant components, executing all processing in lockstep. Because replicated components perform the same instructions at the same time, there is zero interruption in processing, zero loss of performance, and zero loss of data integrity even if a component fails. This means that, unlike a high-availability cluster, the Stratus approach does not impose recovery time.

Our redundant hardware design includes both dual-modular redundancy (DMR) and triple-modular redundancy (TMR) models to protect your users and applications from component outages. Select either option for 99.999% uptime or better - on average less than five minutes of downtime annually.

The architecture uses industry-standard technology and commodity components, making the servers cost effective to manufacture and easy to upgrade as enhanced and improved components are brought to market.

Hi QS,

This is just analyst yackety-yack. What in world does "likely to face increasing competition from IBM & HWP" mean anyway????

Yeah, right, it's "likely" that IBM & HWP are going to try to make more money by selling more servers. So what else is new??? There hasn't been any competition from either one of them for a year-and-a-half, so what would it take to make an "increased competition"?????

I talked to a Sun rep who told me he hasn't even seen a CPQ or HWP rep for a "while" and that IBM reps only show up "every now & then". All Carly F. has to do is send in one of her reps ONCE and it's an "increase" in "competition" over what it has been.

These analysts must have PR firms that shuttle back & forth between DC & NY all the time. They 'spin' like pols.
