You said, "if JDSU is/was perceived to be such a solid grower then why is the stock price down considerably from it's highs??" And it appears you're saying there's a direct correlation between JDSU's growth and the decline in its stock. I believe perceptions can affect the price of the stock excessively in either direction apart from the fundamentals of the company, and, indeed, while the stock is falling the company may be increasing its prospects. It takes time for the truth to be revealed. And market sentiment can be skewed in the wrong direction anywhere along the way.
