RESEARCH ALERT-JP Morgan Chase a Merrill Focus 1
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Merrill Lynch said on Wednesday it named banking group J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. Inc. (NYSE:JPM - news) a Focus One stock.

The 12-month target price is $75. The rating of near- and long-term buy was reiterated.

``The shares appear deeply undervalued when viewed as an emerging global securities play,'' Merrill Lynch said in a report.

``... JPM is emerging among a handful of well-positioned global wholesale intermediaries - non-U.S. business explains over 50 percent of profits.''

The shares closed on Tuesday at $48-11/16.
