I have taken initial positions in both for a long-term investment and will add if they hit lower levels of support. Why not?

Take a look at the accounting, revenue growth, and price/sales ratio. JMHO

Why MSFT? Isn't their potential earnings growth still tied to PCs? Seems like they could get a lot cheaper as buying for PCs continues to be deferred ... why not wait until it gets cheaper if you believe it can continue to grow revenues ... Big cap tech just doesn't make sense, unless you think the recession is really going to be a no-show, IMO.

The point in your piece was that things don't turn from great to terrible overnight, but we've had a pretty rabid expansion in IT spending over the last few years (overstated, to be sure by the statistics, but still rabid).
