TRIT - THE CORPORATE RESPONSE!!!!!!!!

Triden Telecom, Inc., Responds To Unauthorized Release

Business Editors

TYLER, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 10, 2001-- Mark Bouchard, a shareholder of Triden (PINKSHEETS:TRIT) issued a press release on January 10, 2001, regarding a proposal made by Mr. Bouchard to Triden.
Triden did not receive a copy of the release before it was published by Mr. Bouchard, and Mr. Bouchard received no authorization or approval to make any release pertaining to Triden.
Mr. Bouchard claims to represent a group of shareholders, but Triden has never received any information or other evidence that Mr. Bouchard represents anyone other than himself.
Mr. Bouchard has made a proposal to Triden in which he claims to have opportunities for acquisitions, but the proposal does not identify the acquisitions, does not contain any evidence that the acquisitions exist, and does not provide any information that would indicate that one or more of the acquisitions would be beneficial to Triden and its shareholders.
The proposal and the release by Mr. Bouchard is another in a series of irresponsible and unauthorized releases and postings by Mr. Bouchard through Raging Bull and other media. Triden disavows any knowledge or responsibility for Mr. Bouchard's actions, and is now evaluating what steps Triden may take to prevent similar conduct in the future.
The board of directors of Triden and its management is fully aware of its fiduciary obligations to the shareholders of Triden and is in the process of pursuing several business transactions that management believes that will be of substantial benefit to Triden and its shareholders. Management of Triden urges shareholders and the investing public to disregard any postings made by Mr. Bouchard or any other person through Raging Bull or other media pertaining to the present or future activities or business of Triden.

The Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995 ("Act") provides a safe harbor for forward-looking information made on behalf of the Company. All statements, other than statements of historical facts, which address the Company's expectations of expectation for the future with respect to acquisitions or business activities are forward-looking statements. Such statements made by the Company are based on knowledge of the environment in which it operates, but because of the factors previously listed, as well as other factors beyond the control of the Company, actual events or results may differ materially from the expectations expressed in the forward-looking statements.
